Sometimes the printer might look on but it isn't responding.
We need to confirm this by checking "Printers & Scanners"
This will let you know if the printer is offline.
The status would normally appear below the printer name.
eg. Zdesigner ZD420
Default <-- That tells you default printer
Normal next to that, it would say offline <-- This indicates the computer cannot see the printer is online
In this situation, I'd do the following
Select the printer and click on remove.
Unplug the printer from power. <-- Normal leave unplugged for 1min
Shutdown the computer <-- Always good to do this every now and then.
Check the USB at the back of the printer <-- remove and plug back in
Follow the USB cable to the computer and ensure it is plugged in the computer USB port
If it is plugged into a USB Hub, remove and plug in directly to USB port.
Turn the computer back on.
This should now be detected.
Once the computer is back, if the computer detected the printer is will reinstall it.
Go to Printers & Scanners and locate
ZDesigner ZD420-203dpiZPL
Then go to printing preferences for label printer
Ensure we update width and height.
and then go to Maintenance.
Click on calibrate - This prints 2-3 labels to calibrate it.
Then print an old label to test it is working fine.
